Linked In

So Linked In is the new resume and it can printed out to be an actual physical resume with a few clicks on the mouse. People use Linked In to network, like Facebook, but on a professional level- suit and tie professional. Profile pictures should be head shots not selfies and the goal should be to network into your dream career not obtain the most likes. Created in 2003, the forum really took off when the offered the function of uploading your address book. Increased users allowed Linked In to go global and offered the site in numerous languages. The company started with only ten employees and now the site averages two new members per second. My classmates who spoke on Linked In today had a lot of pointers including using a middle initial in your name to narrow down search. They showed how to add your Linked In page on your demo reels so interested potential employers can see your work without having to initiate contact. Makes their job easier when recruiting and your chances at getting hired better because all the have to do now is put a face with a name. I was inspired to create a Linked In page after the group presentation because it seemed like a no brainer that in 2014 I should have a digital resume.
